...annd... we often burst out laughing at the ludicrousity of some arguments of liberal arguments for Obama.

We generally burst out laughing at American politics in general actually.  Then again, our system is just as laughable

I can't agree - I think that despite the many faults of your system, it is still one of the best out there.

Your threat to "boycott" UPS because they pulled their ads from FoxNews is comical.  I'm quite cerain UPS could care less about your "stance."  And then, to say your upset because they "boycotted the whoe network."  Well, you may have missed this, but the network hires that crackpot and gives him the space to spew his crap.

Let me show you the total impact of your statemetn in terms that should be clear to you.  "vVv Gaming will now boycott Stardock and all its games."  I guess I showed you, huh?

Thanks for showing your politcal allegiance to Fox News.  Says quite a bit about you and your character, but it's good to know these things now.  God thing that the Heroes of Newerth beta is so popular.

BTW, we're giving out 300 beata keys thanks to the support of S2 games, who seesm to be smart enough to keep politics out of their business model.

I hope you boycott these forums too.

What does a shameless DOTA ripoff with a horrible community have to do with the issue at hand?

I don't see anywhere where this is a "business model".  As was already mentioned, this was taken out of context on a Facebook status page.

There was no press release or anything like that.

Think about it.

Well even CEOs lose their cool it seems.

I disagree completely.  This:

Frogboy
If you buy Stardock products, the terrorists win.

It's really that simple.

demonstrates that you guys take Frogboy way more seriously than he does.

Beck is still a major nutjob though

Meh, I was going to post something I thought was funny, but thought better of it.

on Sep 29, 2009

Disregard above.

on Sep 29, 2009

If you've listened to the kinds of things that Beck says on his show, then it's pretty obvious why a company wouldn't want to be seen as supporting it with ad money.

Even Beck can't explain or support his statements, he's just in it for ratings:

That said, Brad is certainly within his rights to disagree with anything that anyone does and make choices about how to respond to it.  Just like UPS, he'll have to deal with the fallout as well.

on Sep 29, 2009

Boycotts only serve to spread even more "reactions" from some TeeVee hosts!

Let it be said they can certainly benefit from the controversy... besides, what if FOX_News bans UPS;  next thing ya know the tube will become a propaganda device.

Cabled. For a price. We still pay for filt & politics.

Play a game or somethin'.

Currently, what we have are pub stunts on multiple channels. And no talkin head (however interrupted constantly by repetitive ads!) can ever force me into buying anything other than what i choose to.

UPS responded today:

We did not halt our advertising on Fox; we simply did not have any ads currently airing on Fox. This should not be interpreted as a decision to pull our advertising temporarily or permanently from the Fox network. In fact, a new advertising rotation began on September 14 to support the new The UPS Store online printing service. Fox is included in that rotation.

It isn't that UPS is pulling ads from the Beck show, something that I think few would see as a problem. They're pulling their ads from the only news network which isn't a total Obama love fest.

I don't like the idiocy on network news in general. That and the total wasteland whichi is television is why I've refused to own one until I got a Wii... and even then I disabled the antenna so it can only be used for video games. So I'm already boycotting Fox News, MSNBC, CBS, etc. I can get much better, more accurate, or diverse opinions from the internet anyways.

In particular I find Glenn Beck clownish, and worse a counter-productive hypocrite (Against Obama now, but refused and refuses to support McCain, Romney or Huckabee) who will implode sooner or later. Still I think the boycott against Glenn Beck organized by Color of Change is worse because it is a behind the scenes to suppress free speech and suppress anti-Obama press. I also appreciate that Beck picks up on stuff like Obama's Czars and the Acorn scandal covered by internet news sites while the network channels enforce their narrow blackouts of things not on their agendas. Because if he wasn't willing to take his highly rated show and half-inform people of stuff like the Acorn scandal then all the other news networks would never feel the need to let you know they'd been busted for being willing to support child sex-slavery with our tax dollars.

Besides if Glenn Beck's show is really full of uneducated dopes, and he has the highest ratings of all ... isn't that EXACTLY where you'd want to advertise? Get the most viewers for your ad and they won't think about not buying your product/service?

Regardless I don't know how seriously how to take anything posted on Facebook.

If anything we should be boycotting the escapist. The total lack of reading comprehension among all the comment posters made me feel dumber for having wasted my time reading those.

on Sep 29, 2009

I love how so many people feel Glenn Beck is somehow powerful enough to make a difference just because of what he says. But I guess if people were dumb enough to listen to the stupidities of the Howard Stern show before I don't see why a guy like Glenn Beck wouldn't be just as popupal or at least close.

You can't, however, deny that as crazy as he is he nailed Van Jones big time. Gotta give him credit for that.

on Sep 29, 2009

I for one am happy for Glen Beck.  Because of him my tax dollars won't be funding ACORN!
